How We Work

Our work typically involves tackling strategic issues working either with the MoD, Industry or acting as a bridge between both in developing clear understanding, cooperation and workable solutions. Notably we have assisted the MoD in developing parts of the Defence Industrial Strategy (DIS) and are working closely with Industry in developing the organisational capabilities required to respond to DIS, typically involving the design of Long Term Partnering Arrangements and Through Life availability based solutions.

Our work usually involves:

Addressing the major strategic challenges facing corporate boards including; group, company and business unit strategy, market analysis and market entry/growth strategies, merger & acquisition support, technology and innovation strategy, organisational development, customer engagement and partnering/supply strategy. We also provide support to major business-winning and bid activities
Development of Through Life Support solutions often involving the design of the supporting commercial and operations models, financial assessment and supply chain strategy
Delivering improved operational performance through process optimisation by applying best practice tools and techniques e.g. lean, organisational redesign and effective information management

Examples of our most recent work include:

  • Support to the MoD in analysing the defence industrial market to identify the strategic levers to improve its performance in support of the Defence Industrial Strategy
  • Support to a major defence contractor in developing an availability based through life support solution for a major equipment and active participation in the negotiation of the contract with MoD
  • Guidance to two major defence contractors in responding to DIS through the design of new organisational structures, capabilities and commercial models optimised to deliver through life availability based contracting and capability management
  • Assistance to the MoD in developing a through life logistics support model to improve process coherence across all domains of defence
  • A strategic review and design of future organisational structure for the RAF’s Administrative function to deliver performance improvements required for an agile Air Force
